Frosty morning in The Shambles
Frosty Morning In the Shambles, York (50cm x 70cm, pastel, 1994)
I first visited York in a typical December freezing fog. On the second day,
I captured a wonderful atmospheric shot as the sun broke through.
The resulting scene worked well as light pastels on black card.

Tenby
Tenby (24" x 18", oil, 2004)
I found this view whilst walking in Pembrokeshire. Instead of going
for the postcard view of the harbour, I walked into the postcard
and took a picture the other way.

Henley On Thames
Henley On Thames (A3, pen & ink, 1994)
These boathouses are buzzing with activity during the regatta, but in the winter
they are quiet, and make a fine subject for a picture etched by pen and ink.

Kings Lynn Quayside
Kings Lynn Quayside (A1, pastel, 1993)
Doing a pastel of this size takes quite a bit of planning.
When I filled in the detail on this picture I had to use a little artisitc licence
to get everything to fit. If you've been there, spot the difference!

Aberdeen
Aberdeen (A3, pen & ink, 2004)
Along the main street of aberdeen you come to a bridge over a curiously empty wide road.
From the bridge I saw this view of stacked buildings and took the photo for this drawing.
Lines may be a bit crooked, but that is the handicap of pen & ink...
...any mistakes can be hidden only with more ink.
