The Heritage Room
Thatched Cottages, Moreton (24" x 18", oil, 2004)
I came across these cottages whilst trying to devise a new walk.
I never worked out a good route, but the picture made it to my 2004 calendar
and to this painting - spot the differences!
The fulling Mill, Durham (A3, pastel, 1993)
This pastel comes from a photo from one of my early trips
This picture was part of the local artists exhibition
at the opening of the Channel Tunnel
Weobley Village (18" x 24", oil, 2000)
Weobley is one of those 'black and white' villages beloved of jigsaws, that lies to the North
of Hereford. When I visited, the props from a drama being made were scattered around. Along with the
numerous cars in the street, a good view was hard to find.
Note the telephone box really was askew
Stornoway Castle (16" x 20", oil, 2003)
On my Outer Hebrides trip (2002) I wanted to look around this castle, but was dismayed to find it
boarded up. I could only walk around the extensive grounds, where I caught this glimpse of the
un-boarded upper storeys through the trees.
Beach Huts II (20" x 16", oil, 1994)
Between Bournemouth and Poole, there are a cluster of white beach huts sprouting from the sandy cliffs
This is one of two of my early works from the same photo, showing different groups.
