It had been a wet day when I arrived at Garenin blackhouse village. The clouds
gradually broke up in the evening until at sunset, the light burst through
bringing stunning colour that even reflected from the retreating clouds.



Berneray Hostel (30" x 20", oil, 2003)
In 2002 I took a trip by bus down the Outer Hebrides. One of my stops was this hostel
set in a stunning location on Berneray. The right hand building was being re-thatched,
so I've artistically completed the job.
