Hi, welcome to the noisy page! If you don't hear that on clicking the icon to the left, then you won't get much from this page. If you do, try each of the sounds below - a selection of sounds encounter around the country. Unfortunately my euipment can capture only the louder ones, so there are no skylarks or buzzards circling distant peaks. | |
|
The blackbird - you'll find these all over the South of the country, calling from tree tops
and gardens. For me the blackbrid has one of the nicest calls of British birds.

|
Enter the dragon - not the film, but the blowhole at Portland Bill on a stormy day. The
snorting sounds distinctly like there is something alive down there. Try
the walk or just read about a
stormy day at Portland Bill.

|
The cove - hear the tide rolling pebbles in a secluded cove on the Pembrokeshire coast.
Slowly in, then smoothly out stretching back to come in again, each pebble rolled into
a new position, and each barnacle washed by the rising tide. Try
the walk.

Wild Geese - still on the shore, but this time near Lymington, wild geese floating by the
shore await the change of tide.
| |
| Bothy fire - The light is fading outside, and you've walked a long way today. Even when you reached the bothy, there was firewood to gather and chop. but now its lit, and you've brewed a mug of cocoa. Its time to relax and watch the flames flicker in the grate. Follow the link if you fancy a night at the bothy. |
